In January 2006, the heirs of Achille Castiglioni – an Italian architect, designer and professor – signed a 5-year agreement with the Triennale museum of Milan so that the Museum-Study of Achille Castiglioni could be open to the public, and could continue its archival work.

Given the arrangement’s success with the museum-going public – more than 40,000 visitors in 2014 – the Castiglioni family wanted to continue to share the place and the stories it hosts with visitors. For this reason, and to develop the many projects in which the museum-study is involved, the Achille Castiglioni Foundation was born on December 14, 2011.

The foundation’s principal goal is to catalogue, put in order, archive, and digitalize the existing projects, designs, photos, models, films, talks, objects, books, and magazines – in short, the entire world in which Achille worked for more than 60 years of professional activity, first together with his brother Pier Giacomo, and then, from 1968, alone.
