We will visit the thousand-year old Monastery of St. Peter in Lamosa overlooking the evocative peat bogs of the Sebino Natural Park; the Bornato Castle, a 13th century fortress transformed in the 16th century into a princely villa, with frescoed rooms and sumptuous furnishings, surrounded by a large park including Italian- and English-style gardens with centuries-old trees; Iseo, an old town set in a picturesque lakeside landscape rich with natural beauty; and, finally, the San Nicola of Rodengo Abbey whose 11th century origins derive from Cluny, with its church entirely frescoed on the the inside, splendid carved wooden choir stalls and three evocative cloisters with important paintings.
