“New Voices,” the series of conferences by young art historians of the State University of Milan, returns.

The first encounter is held by Agostino Allegri, presented by Giovanni Agosti, and will be dedicated to the work of Gaudenzio Ferrari, an artist and sculptor of the Renaissance in Milan. The focus will be the pictorial cycle realized by Ferrari in the Santa Maria della Pace church in via San Barnaba, Milan. Allegri’s research focused on the sequence of events undergone by the pictorial cycle, which – after the suppression of the church in 1805 – was detached, and divided in parts, some of which were taken to the Brera Pinacoteca, while others — such as the altarpiece — got lost in the meander of private collecting.
