The history armory is one of the most fascinating places in the museum. In this long corridor, the two brothers exhibited their collection of arms and armor, one of the distinctive traits of Lombard collecting. As in the rest of the house, antique examples flank “in style” or restored objects, to give the impression of being in an old armory. In addition to defensive pieces, such as shields and armor, the collection is almost exclusively made up of bladed side arms. In the brothers eyes they, rather than firearms, seemed to better evoke the idea of the Renaissance that they wanted. In this room, young visitors will discover a winning door onto a knowledge of the past.
