A French Odyssey

Borderless melodies in a meeting of cultures

A French Odyssey

In the 18th century, France went through an era of extraordinary cultural openness. Explorations and dialogue with distant civilizations enriched the artistic landscape, and music became a bridge between different worlds. Sounds and melodies from the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas merged with the European style, influencing both popular and cultured music. The cello finally won its place in France, adapting perfectly to the demands of the new music. With this concert, UnderStories Baroque Ensemble gives voice to an era of encounters and transformations. A sonic journey in which music shortens distances and celebrates curiosity about the other.
