Come Fuoco

From Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse

Come Fuoco

Narciso and Boccadoro meet again after many years, bound by the encounter that marked their lives. Narciso, a man of spirit, and Boccadoro, an artist and devourer of life, embody the conflict between mind and matter. Between the memories of a lifetime and the now consumed present, their dialogue ignites like fire, burning until the inevitable epilogue. To narrate this encounter means to question the very meaning of life: to consume oneself in intensity or to elevate oneself in abstraction? A journey through bodies, words and suspended desires.
