Tea Talks 2025

Art Conversations at the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum

After the success of its first edition, Tea Talks. Art Conversations at Casa Bagatti Valsecchi comes back with a new program!

Seven dates through the year, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., to discover in an original and engaging way the Museum's permanent collection and explore fascinating art history topics, in front of a cup of tea and the pastries by Pasticceria Cova.

The talks are led by two voices: Aurora Ghezzi, art historian and collection manager of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, and Susanna Gualazzini, art historian and curator of the Biffi Arte Gallery in Piacenza.

This year's seven appointments will explore cross-cutting themes, starting with the strong value of hospitality, a distinctive feature of the brothers Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi, told through the historical Museum's Guest Book, and then focusing on Hermann Hesse's Narcissus and Boccadoro, a highly emotional novel founded on the value of friendship, and again a study of the iconography of saints rendered through an investigation of the most significant works in the Museum's collection. Before the summer, we will land in the English 1800s with the idea of ornament carried by the Arts & Crafts movement of William Morris and Edward Bourne-Jones.

September will see the unmissable talk with a special guest, Francesca Cappelletti, Director of the Galleria Borghese in Rome, who will analyze the relationship between patrons and artists starting with the fundamental role of Cardinal Scipione Borghese for Bernini and Caravaggio.

And finally, two focuses closely related to Casa Bagatti Valsecchi: the Wunderkammer and the relationship with music of the two Milanese brothers.
