Mirabilia

Journey through the treasures of the Wunderkammer

Mirabilia

Known by the German term Wunderkammer, the Chambers of Wonders were splendid collections of natural history specimens, instruments, mechanical inventions, geographical maps, archaeological rarities, coins, cameos and more, used for educational purposes as well as a means of universal scientific inquiry.

From the discovery of the most curious examples preserved in the Bagatti Valsecchi collection, we will move on to an in-depth look at some of the most unique Wunderkammers designed to collect rare or bizarre specimens of natural history and artifacts.
