Sguardi Queer

Visual narratives at the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum

Sguardi Queer

On June 25 at 7 p.m. Museo Bagatti Valsecchi and Edge present *Queer Looks. Visual Narratives at the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, a special event dedicated to the celebration of queer artists in the art world.

The evening will open with the presentation of the book Arte Queer. Corpi, segni, storie, a conversation about queer artists* who have left their mark on contemporary art.

The author and art sharer Elisabetta Roncati (aka @ArtNomadeMilan), Antonio D'Amico, Director Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, and Samuele Briatore, EDGE Member, will dialogue on the role of inclusivity in art and on contemporary protagonists who have made “queerness” a key theme of their poetics.

At 8 p.m., an aperitivo with DJ set will follow on the Museum's terrace, curated by Camparino in the Gallery and The Leaf Catering.

The initiative will be enriched by the exhibition of five works by Ruben Montini (Oristano, 1986): visual poems, made of letters in Sardinian brocade, that tell about love, fear and sexuality of the individual in his contemporary life. Moving between performance and the creation of textile works, between physical and collective actions, Montini articulates a complex thought that while light and romantic, is one of the most important narrative voices of today's struggles of the LGBTQ+ community in Italy.
