Carlo Bossoli

Tribute to Odessa

Carlo Bossoli

Tribute to Odessa

Curated by Fernando Mazzocca

Thanks to the fine display of four previously unseen watercolors by Carlo Bossoli (1815-1884), the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum tributes to the culture of a country still disfigured by war, Ukraine.

The watercolors, which belongs to the Baratti Gallery in Milan, are shown in the intimate setting of the exhibition hall and they aim to enlight the splendor and elegance of the city of Odessa through the gaze of Carlo Bossoli.

The 19th-century painter, who lived and studied the art of drawing on the shores of the Black Sea, encapsulates in his views of Odessa the ancient vitality of a country now disfigured by conflict.

The exhibition dialogues with the "Stasera al Museo" programme, specifically with the event "Al confine tra due mondi," an evening dedicated to music, dance and the words of men and women who are facing the Urkanian war.
