Lo Sguardo del Sentire

The Emilian seventeenth century art from Credem's collections

Curated by Antonio D'Amico and Odette D'Albo

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum and Credem present The Gaze of Feeling. The seventeenth century of Emilia from the art collections Credem, on display from next May 9 to November 10, 2024.

The Milanese house museum reinforces its role as the home of collections, with the aim of making part of Credem's artistic heritage known to the Milanese public and, above all, supporting the restoration of the works of the Zauli Museum in Faenza hit by the flood on May 16, 2023.

Curated by Antonio D'Amico and Odette D'Albo, the exhibition itinerary, set within the halls of the museum, presents a nucleus of ten masterpieces by masters of the 17th century in Emilia from the Credem art collection and eight sculptures by Carlo Zauli.

The itinerary relates the Emilian Baroque, represented by the works of masters such as Reni, Lanfranco and Procaccini, to the identity of the rooms of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, following the thread of the intimate and devout gaze peculiar to seventeenth-century subjects and offering the chance to get to know masterpieces from a banking collection that is rarely revealed to the public.

At the same time, it is possible to admire the sculptural works of Carlo Zauli, one of the most important Italian and European ceramic sculptors of the 20th century, recognized worldwide for the innovations he introduced in ceramic art and the production of majolica and porcelain.

Through The Look of Feeling, art helps art to be reborn: thanks to the generosity of museum visitors, the Bagatti Valsecchi will be able to concretely support the Faenza institution.

The cost of the ticket will in fact be 15 euros and includes admission, audioguide and a contribution of 2 euros for the restoration of the works of the Zauli Museum in Faenza.
